Knotts Scary Farm Fire Performance ’09
15th October 2009
We at West Coast Juggling teamed up with Red Swan Entertainment for a 3-day Halloween fire performance on the Inferno Stage at Knotts Scary Farm in Los Angeles, CA. With crowds averaging 800 to 1,000 people per show, we had an incredible weekend doing four 15 minute shows a night! What a fantastic experience, sharing the stage with so many other skilled fire performers. With any luck, we will return to do it again next year! ;c)
Burning Man 2009: Evolution
15th September 2009
Well, we’re back from Burning Man and back in business. We had a wonderfully uplifting experience this year, almost too much fun to describe! ;c)
(For more information on Burning Man, please visit www.burningman.com)
Akasha/Jen, our own goddess of the flame, along side Devil Stix Dave danced and spun fire in the Great Circle of Fire before the Man burned. We had the pleasure of hanging out and juggling with Adam Dipert aka Harmonized Motion, one of our favorite stix jugglers from The Extra Terrestrial Circus Experiment.

Last but certainly not least, we thoroughly enjoyed meeting and signing in all of the skilled fire performers when we volunteered for The Fire Conclave Convergence Camp. We look forward to doing it again next year!!
Burning Man
27th August 2009
We will be at Burning Man from Aug 28 – Sep 10, so all purchases will be shipped out the day we are back in town. We will be helping out this year with the Shiva Vista Project and the Fire Conclave at Burning Man. The Fire Conclave is in charge of the Great Circle of Fire before the Man burns. The Great Circle of Fire is a gathering of hundreds of fire performance groups that all perform together to create a living circle of fire surrounding the Man just before he is lit and burned to the ground. The Shiva Vista Project is best described below:
Shiva Vista Project
The Story and Inspiration behind the Shiva Vista Project
Shiva is one of three aspects of the Hindu trinity representing divinity. Brahma is the first aspect, considered the creator, Vishnu the second aspect considered the preserver and Shiva, the destroyer. Shiva’s function is to destroy all the worlds at the end of creation and dissolve them into nothingness, void, from which point Brahma again creates the world, completing the circle of life. Shiva is responsible for change, both in the form of death and destruction and in shedding old habits to start anew. Shiva’s destruction is positive, that of nourishment and construction that builds and transforms life and energy for the welfare of the world and all that inhabit it. Shiva destroys to renew and regenerate. This is the destruction of an artist, a surgeon, a cook; evolution. Through destruction is facilitated the smooth transition of things and events from one stage to another.
The ring of fire bordering Shiva represents the existence of dance within the entire universe. The lotus pedestal that Shiva stands on identifies with each individual’s ability to find that universe. Shiva’s arms represent the four cardinal directions, and similarly, the four arms of Shiva Vista welcome people into its universe at a full circular spectrum from whichever cardinal direction one may be traveling for all to experience and share.
The Shiva Vista Project will be a spiritual gathering place and venue where artists of all sorts are invited to showcase their unique performance talents.
This is the final evolution of the Towers of Shiva in its present incarnation. At Burning Man 2009, the stage will burn, and something new will be resurrected from the ashes of the project.
We invite all fire performers to light up the night and share their unique gift with the Playa. Come play with us again, for the final time, in this way, at this time. Come, share your evolution with us and our evolution.

NW World Reggae Fest ’09
17th August 2009
Located in Marcola Oregon, this 3 day camp-out reggae music festival was a TON of fun to say the least, and definetly family-friendly! =c) It’s one of the smaller festivals that we vend at, with a very friendly community vibe to it. Despite the festival’s humble size, West Coast Juggling’s vending booth was able to completely sell out of the $10 Glow Poi with 3-color strobe AND the AstroJax! Woohoo! We will most certainly be returning next August to vend again.
