Dave’s Bio:
In 1999 David Hirshman started his amazing performance journey with juggling sticks (aka “devil stix” or “flower stix”) earning his stage name Devil Stix Dave. That year he feel in love with the raw energy & beauty of the Flow Arts. He joined the fire performance troupe Controlled Burn the same year & has been performing with Controlled Burn in the Great Circle of Fire for the last 7 years. He was involved with the Colorado Rock Opera from ’06 – ’07 and the Shiva Vista Project from ’07 – ’09. West Coast Juggling, Dave’s legal alias was created in 2009 as the realization of Dave’s dream to offer his brand of fire flower sticks and other performance tools to the juggling & flow arts community.
David won first as a professional in the 2nd International Devil Sticks competition in Las Vegas Nevada on July 17 2010. As a self-taught circus performer specializing in Solo and Duet Fire performances, he has a versatile style that can smoothly transfer speed and rhythm. His performance tools include Nunchaku, Staff, Rope Dart, Meteor, Sword, Buugeng, Floating Wand & he specializes in Devil Sticks/Flower sticks. David has a unique flow & energy that will be sure to ignite your next gathering with the passionate flames of fun and excitement.
Performances include: Knotts Berry Farm’s Halloween Haunt; Village at Mammoth Ski Resort; Island Seas Resort (Freeport, Bahamas); High Sierra Music Festival; Compression Fire Arts Festival; Drum, Dance, & Didgeridoo Festival; San Francisco Fire Expo; Club Vanity (Reno, NV); Nevada Museum of Art; & City of Reno Artown events, to name a few.
Devil Stix Dave is available to teach workshops at juggling events, school’s, festivals and circus centers; cost of travel and lodging is negotiable.
